BUNK READS is a book discovery program. 

The program supports campers’ year-round independent reading by introducing them to new children’s books and authors in a literacy-rich camp environment.

BUNK READS LIBRARY

A collection of acclaimed picture books, novels and non-fiction children’s books are sent to select Maine camps each summer.

 

READ. REVIEW. WIN.

Campers are invited to score and review books read at camp on a Bunk Reads Shout-out Card.  Camps share photos of those cards online using the hashtag #bunkreads to enter campers to win.

Three random camp book reviewers will win a box of children’s books shipped to them in December.  MORE INFO.

WHO ARE THE BUNK READERS?

BUNK READS is administered by Curious City and sponsored by the Erin Murphy Literary Agency.  A special thanks to Mark Lipof of Camp Micah who helped envision this project and brought together the stellar group of pilot camps.

Curious City a company that seeks to create a stronger bond between readers and the books created for them.  Run by Kirsten Cappy for the past 15 years, the company is known nationally by librarians, educators, and booksellers for creating projects that engage children in creative ways in the written word.
